I started my day in fear: fear of the truth about my kidneys (Fred & Wilma). I have been told that I am a few years away from dialysis or transplant. I went to the kidney specialists today at UNC Hospital, and I found out:
I am fine.
I don't have to worry about too much or too little water.
I was praised for losing the 50 pounds and told to keep on doing exactly what I am doing.
I am NOT eating too much protein.
I don't have to worry about potassium.
My diabetic diagnosis has been REMOVED.
And my blood pressure medicine has been reduced.
And I will probably NOT need dialysis or transplant.
It was indeed a good day.
