Born on this date in 1909, Carmen Miranda was the definition of fun. She was known as the "Brazilian Bomshell" and her madcap appearances helped us all get through World War 2 and a major part of the 50's as well.
Be sure you notice her shoes. They were always about 6 to 7 inch platforms! Carmen was known for outrageous costumes and hats. Many have tried to imitate her, all have failed. There was and always will be only one Carmen Miranda!
