Stephen SondheimOn this date in 1930, Broadway genius composer/lyricist Stephen Sondheim was born. Shows he created are so many: West Side Story, Gypsy (lyrics only) and Company, Follies, A Little Night Music, Sweeney Todd, Into The Woods (music and lyrics) to name only a few.
Sondheim set the musical theatre on a new path of realism and truth. He is a national treasure. So treasure him.
