ANDY GRIFFITH: REST IN PEACE

ANDY GRIFFITH died this morning at 7am at his home in Manteo, North Carolina.

I knew Andy from when I performed in THE LOST COLONY.  He always said to me, "Richard, you are the funniest guy I have ever met.  If I had a TV show, I'd put you on it tomorrow."

That promise never came true, but I didn't care.  I knew he loved me.  He would stand by me in choir practice at the Manteo Methodist Church when we were rehearsing the Brahms Requiem (Andy loved to sing) and we were very crowded and stuffed into that little choir loft. It was so crowded I couldn't hold my music, so I looked at the person's music in front of me.  Andy thought I had the whole thing memorized.  I never told him the truth.  Now, I guess he knows.

God Love You, Andy.  Sing on, Brother!
