A DIVINE SINGER HAS PASSED

CAMILLA WILLIAMS, greatly unappreciated in her time because of her race. A brilliant singer.

As a former student of the late Todd Duncan, I know well what the US opera world sacrificed by closing its doors to black singers for so many years. Thank God those doors were opened for the likes of the finest Verdi soprano of the latter 20th century - Martina Arroyo and maybe the finest Verdi mezzo of all times Grace Bumbry.
