BETTY FURNESS: LEST WE FORGET

BETTY FURNESS WAS BORN ON THIS DATE IN 1916.

If you are of a "certain age" then you will remember her opening one million refrigerator doors on black and white television. She later became a consumer advocate.

Remember: "You can be sure if it's Westinghouse"

I remember. We called them ice boxes. Some members of my family still do, but it's OK because they live in Oklahoma.

Yes, I'm reluctantly pleased to say that I remember.
