My friend Harry Guardino was born on this date in 1925. He appeared in many films such as Hell is for Heroes, Dirty Harry, The Enforcer, Fist of Honor. And on Broadway, Harry appeared in Sondheim's Anyone Can Whistle and Kander and Ebb's Woman of the Year with Lauren Bacall.
(I'll tell you Harry's Bacall story sometime!)

I was privileged to conduct Harry and Chita Rivera in CHICAGO at Harrah's Marina in Atlantic City in 1985 The casino always provided the stars food in their dressing rooms. Harry hated cashew nuts and always gave his to me. What a treat. And he was a pro and so delightful and down to earth. A good man, and they are hard to find!

Harry died July 17, 1995. Rest in Peace, my dear friend.

Richard, thank you for the birthday wishes! Harry was my uncle and I too just posted his picture and birthday greeting. He was a character and he was so talented. He is missed by all of our family.
