Born on this date in 1606 Rembrandt (Van Rijn) is one of the world's greatest painters; many consider him the greatest.

He created over 300 etchings, 1,400 drawings, 600 paintings such as The Night Watch, Man with a Magnifying Glass, The Anatomy Lesson of Professor Tulp, Descent from the Cross, Rape of Ganymede. Rembrandt died on Oct 4, 1669.

To see his paintings up close and personal is a revelation you should not miss.
