THE DAY THE MUSIC DIED

Yes, it was today, so many years ago. Seems like yesterday doesn't it?

February 3, 1959. 22-year-old Buddy Holly, 28-year-old J.P. Richardson (The Big Bopper) and 17-year-old Ritchie Valens died in an airplane crash near Mason City, Iowa.

The day has been immortalized in the song "American Pie" by Don McLean.

I was in Tulsa sucking my thumb and crapping in my pants.
I love "The Day The Music Died" and for years, I'm ashamed to say, I didn't know what it was about.
