The gorgeous Rita was born this date in 1918 and died May 14, 1987. Who can forget Gilda, Affair In Trinidad, Pal Joey? She was knock-out glamour and the boys took her with them overseas during WW2. I guess they knew what they were fighting for, didn't they? (Margarita Carmen Cansino)
One piece of private trivia of mine: Rita has the smallest footprint at Mann's Chinese Theatre.
And her death from Alzheimer's brought that disease to national prominence for the first time.
